Ephesus was economically, geographically, politically and culturally significant. Many famous philosophers who are still read today lived in the city of Ephesus.

Daily Itinerary
After an hour morning flight from Istanbul, you will land Izmir Airport where your professional guide and driver will meet you. We will drive for around 45 minutes to Selcuk town and start exploring Ephesus.
Day 1: Ephesus is the best preserved ancient city in Eastern part of Mediterranean. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the greatest outdoor museums in the world! Visiting the region is a great opportunity to take a step back in time. Ephesus Ancient City is an outstanding example of Roman port city, with sea channel and harbor basin. It was Hellenic Greece capital city and was the capital of the Roman Empire’s in Asia. During the tour we will visit Celcus Library, Great Theatre and the spectacular Terace Houses. Terrace houses (villas) located on the slope of the hill within the city of Ephesus. The ground mosaics and wall frescos are breathtaking! The Great Theatre is the largest in Anatolia and has the capacity of 25,000 seats. Besides Ephesus, we will also visit the House of Virgin Mary which is located on the hills of Ephesus. Virgin Mary went to Ephesus with St. John and lived here since then. This is the house where she spent her last days and it is an important pilgrimage center for Christians.
If you have only one day, we will fly back to Istanbul from Izmir Airport. If you have a second day, which we recommend, then we recommend you to spend the night in Sirince village. It takes around 15 minutes to drive from Selcuk town to Sirince. You may enjoy your dinner and local wine in Sirince village as well.
Day 2: After a fantastic breakfast in Sirince, we will walk around the streets and explore this charming village. Then we will drive to back Selcuk town for around 15 minutes. If it's a Saturday, we will be able to walk around the famous farmer's market of Selcuk. If not, we can visit the Archaeological Museum of Ephesus, where statues and thusands of artifacts from the region are exhibited. After lunch we will have a look at the ruins of Artemis Temple and Basilica of St. John.
We will drive to Izmir airport to return back to Istanbul or for your next destination.
PS: If you are coming to Kusadasi port on a cruise ship, we will be glad to organize you a 1 day tour and bring you back to the port in the afternoon.
